About the Role

As a Commercial Manager at PlayStation, you will be responsible for driving business growth and achieving sales targets across key accounts. This role requires a strategic thinker who can develop and execute commercial strategies to maximize retail space and locations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Sales Target Achievement: Meet and exceed weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets for Hardware, Software, Peripheral, and PS Digital Business Categories.
  2. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with functional areas to support the development of commercial strategies and achieve business goals.
  3. Commercial Strategy Development: Construct and implement commercial strategies to drive business growth and maximize sales opportunities.
  4. Retail Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with retailers to ensure successful marketing of products to consumers.
  5. Retail Support and Promotion: Maximize the effectiveness of all PlayStation software, hardware, peripherals, and digital at retail launches by negotiating retail support and promotional activities.
  6. Distribution and Inventory Management: Maintain ongoing relationships with distribution teams to coordinate additional floor and other retail space for displays, interactives, and promotional materials, and ensure healthy retail inventory levels.
  7. Market Analysis and Reporting: Conduct weekly analyses of sell-thru and other market/account data, and present strategic recommendations based on that analysis.
  8. Retail Marketing Campaigns: Implement and evaluate effective Retail Marketing campaigns to drive sales and business growth.
  9. Trade Relations and Customer Support: Maintain excellent trade relations and customer support for PlayStation brands through effective execution of brand strategy and understanding of customer needs and market conditions.
  10. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and consolidate weekly and monthly reporting packages with sell-in, sell-thru, market share data, pricing information, and competitive and market analysis of assigned accounts.
  11. Buyer Meetings and Collaboration: Conduct consistent meetings with each retail buyer to ensure maximization of sales and collaborate with the PlayStation Trade/Channel Marketing team and Retail Marcom team to ensure proper implementation of all plans and initiatives.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience in sales and management, preferably in consumer electronics or a related field.
  • Undergraduate degree in sales, marketing, or communication required, or equivalent related experience.
  • Strong general knowledge of merchandising, branding, sales analysis, and retail advertising.
  • Creative and energetic teammate who embraces change and continually desires to improve.
  • Resourceful in finding solutions to business problems.
  • Solid ability to execute the strategic vision with a keen sense of activating tactical initiatives simultaneously.
  • Innate ability to understand and articulate market performance and analyze and develop optimized business solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with a proactive attitude.
  • Delivery-focused.
  • Forward-thinking and proven experience in planning, collaborating, negotiating, and coming to an optimal business solution.
