Job Title:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Credit Strategist to join our organization in a key leadership role.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in credit risk management, underwriting, and commercial lending, with a focus on B2B transactions. They will also have extensive experience in managing global credit risk portfolios in Latin America, including Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the global credit risk strategy, working closely with senior leadership to shape the company's financial direction. You will oversee the B2B underwriting process, manage credit and underwriting teams, and ensure thorough credit assessments aligned with the company's risk profile.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the global credit risk strategy, focusing on business growth while ensuring robust risk mitigation frameworks, primarily in Latin American markets.
  • Serve as a key strategic partner to the CFO and senior leadership, shaping the company's financial direction and collaborating on credit strategy and exposure.
  • Oversee the B2B underwriting process, manage credit and underwriting teams, and ensure thorough credit assessments aligned with the company's risk profile.
  • Leverage data to develop and enhance robust underwriting and monitoring risk models, identifying new products and opportunities.

You will lead global credit risk policies, underwriting standards, and risk appetite across diverse business units, driving decision-making for large-scale transactions. Your team will be responsible for providing regular KPI and performance reporting to exec team, BoD, and key stakeholders.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in credit risk management, underwriting, and/or commercial lending, with a focus on B2B.
  • 5+ years of experience leading a global team of credit risk professionals, ensuring talent recruitment, development, and retention.
  • Proven experience in managing credit risk portfolios in Latin America (Mexico, Brazil, Colombia), with knowledge of regional financial markets, regulatory landscape, and economic conditions.
