Lead Data Analytics and Predictive Science Professional

The Digital and Data Science Team at Syngenta seeks a Lead Data Analytics and Predictive Science professional in Sao Paulo to establish the Brazilian Data Analytics & Predictive Science team.

This role will be responsible for driving data science needs in Crop Protection Development, including statistics, advanced data analytics, and predictive modeling.

Contribute to strategic developments in Product Biology with a focus on Digital across different product lines and collaborate closely with regional counterparts.

Accountabilities:

  • Work with multidisciplinary project teams to bring data analytics and modeling skills to crop protection product development and optimization.
  • Champion Digital Transformation initiatives by driving collaboration efforts with R&D and Digital departments.
  • Identify opportunities for standardized improvements in protocol and experimental design, data quality, and reporting.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to scientists in designing experiments and field trials for modeling purposes.
  • Drive strategic business initiatives across Crop Protection R&D.

Qualifications:

  • Strong academic foundation in statistics and predictive modeling to postgraduate level or natural science PhD.
  • Knowledge of relevant data-science, analytics, and modeling tooling (e.g., Python, R, Matlab).
  • Scientific domain knowledge in agronomy, biology, chemistry.
  • Experience in developing models relevant to biological or crop protection outcomes.
  • Experience in analyzing and extracting insights from data.
  • Experience working independently and accurately.
  • Experience collaborating with scientists and data scientists to solve complex problems.
