About the Role:
We seek an Early Years Curriculum & Assessment Specialist to align our curriculum and assessments with the latest educational practices, empowering educators to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Development and Alignment:
- Collaborate with Early Years educators to develop a curriculum that reflects the school's vision of inquiry-based learning, active listening, and student-led investigations.
- Design and refine assessment tools that meet national and international curricular benchmarks.
- Assist in planning and documenting projects that promote inquiry-based learning, ensuring clear connections between assessments and learning objectives.
- Ensure high-quality, coherent, updated, and aligned curriculum.
- Project Planning and Collaboration:
- Support teachers in backward design processes, providing guidance on unit planning and assessment alignment.
- Work with educators to create project-based learning experiences that spark children's curiosity and encourage exploration.
- Deliver professional learning sessions and meetings with the team, fully aligned with Reggio Emilia, Pikler, Psychogenesis, Morality, CLIL, and institutional programs.
- Contribute ideas to proposals, events, training, and opportunities for innovation in the institution.
- Meet with families together with the reference educator to discuss goals and progress related to learning objectives.
- Assessment Creation and Monitoring:
- Develop formative and summative assessments to track student progress and development.
- Provide feedback and strategies for improvement based on assessment results and document learning progress through pedagogical records.
- Monitor assessment data to support the continuous enhancement of teaching strategies and student outcomes.
- Evaluate educators' performance, offering constructive feedback, and identifying opportunities for professional growth.
- Classroom Observation and Support:
- Regularly observe sessions, offering constructive feedback and innovative strategies aligned with our inquiry-based, experiential learning philosophy.
- Integrate technological tools to enrich student learning and assessments, focusing on platforms like Toddle.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Ensure clear communication with families, including revisions to project letters and progress updates for parents.
- Hold weekly meetings with division leaders to review project overviews, discuss assessment progress, and address challenges.
- Communicate effectively with the educational team and the school community, keeping them informed about student progress and learning strategies.
- Professional Development and Community Engagement:
- Identify areas where educators may benefit from further professional development and work with leadership to provide relevant training.
- Foster awareness of the Early Years curriculum within the broader school community, presenting updates and insights on our educational initiatives.
- Cultural Diversity and Resource Integration:
- Promote the inclusion of international classroom resources celebrating cultural diversity within the school community.
- Create a nurturing, joyful learning environment reflecting the values of love, respect, and care defining the Early Years program.
- Coordinate different areas ethically and responsibly, in harmony with the leadership team.
