Warehouse Supervisor

The role of Warehouse Supervisor involves overseeing the day-to-day activities at a warehouse location. This includes receiving, counting and stocking materials, as well as picking, packing and shipping items. The successful candidate will also be responsible for operating forklifts and hand/power tools safely, loading/unloading trucks and containers, handling production orders and conducting visual inspections of goods.

In addition to these tasks, the Warehouse Supervisor will be expected to maintain accurate records, perform cycle counting of inventory and handle administrative duties such as documentation and reports. They will also be required to coach and train new warehouse associates, and may be called upon to substitute for the manager when necessary.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Receiving, counting and stocking materials
  • Picking, packing and shipping items
  • Operating forklifts and hand/power tools safely
  • Loading/unloading trucks and containers
  • Handling production orders
  • Conducting visual inspections of goods
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Performing cycle counting of inventory
  • Handling administrative duties
  • Coaching and training new warehouse associates
  • Substituting for the manager when necessary

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Engineering or equivalent
  • Solid experience in Logistics, Warehousing, Inventory Management or Supply Chain Management
  • Forklift certification
  • Safety awareness
  • Leadership skills
  • Change management skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Knowledge of ERPs such as SAP and Navision
  • Knowledge of Incoterms and transportation methods
  • Excellent skills in export documentation, customs procedures and dangerous goods handling
  • Basic skills in transportation insurance claim handling
  • Good communication, cooperation and teamwork skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
