We are seeking a skilled Localization Project Manager to lead and manage the full lifecycle of subtitling projects.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have experience in localization, translation, or media production, with a strong focus on subtitling. They will be responsible for coordinating with localization specialists, monitoring project progress, and ensuring all projects meet deadlines and quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Lead and manage the full lifecycle of subtitling projects from planning and scheduling to execution and delivery.
- Team Coordination: Coordinate with localization specialists to ensure all projects meet deadlines and quality benchmarks.
- Progress Tracking: Monitor and track project progress, providing regular updates to stakeholders and identifying any risks or bottlenecks.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement processes and workflows that optimize efficiency and maintain the highest standards for subtitling quality.
- Clients and Vendors: Manage relationships with clients and external vendors, collaborate with internal teams to align on project needs and resolve issues.
- Subtitling Guidelines: Ensure subtitling follows region-specific guidelines and adheres to cultural sensitivities, compliance laws, and industry best practices.
- Industry Trends: Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovations in subtitling and localization.
- KPI Reporting: Report on KPIs and project metrics to upper management, proposing solutions for continuous improvement.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Film, Media Studies, Linguistics, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in localization, translation, or media production, with a strong focus on subtitling.
- Project Management: Proven experience managing complex, large-scale projects with tight deadlines.
- Subtitling Software: Strong understanding of subtitling software (OOONA, EZtitles), technologies, and file formats.
- Languages: Knowledge of multiple languages is an advantage, but not required.
- Skillset: Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
- Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Analytical Mindset: Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret project data and suggest process improvements.
- Tools and Systems: Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., OOONA) and tracking systems.
- Vendor Relationships: Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiation.
