Job Overview

The Data Analytics and Predictive Science Lead role in São Paulo/SP involves building and leading the Brazilian Data Analytics & Predictive Science team as part of Digital Crop Protection Development to support data-driven product development. This role drives data science needs in Crop Protection Development in the areas of statistics, advanced data analytics and predictive modelling across product lines.

About the Role

This position requires a strong academic foundation in statistics and predictive modelling to postgraduate level or natural science PhD, with knowledge of relevant data-science, analytics and modelling tooling (e.g. Python, R, Matlab, etc.). The ideal candidate will have scientific domain knowledge in relevant fields such as agronomy, biology, chemistry, etc. to effectively work with crop protection scientists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work in multidisciplinary project teams to bring data analytics and modelling skills to development and optimization of crop protection product candidates.
  • Collaborate with the Digital Global Product Biology team and Regional counterparts to champion the Digital Transformation initiatives by driving collaboration efforts on connection points with different parts of R&D and Digital.
  • Identify opportunities for standardized improvements on protocol and experimental design, data quality and reporting. Co-develop and enable more effective trialing process.
  • Interact with product biology managers and other domain experts to understand scientific problems and identify opportunities where the adoption of models will drive value for the business.
  • Investigate interdisciplinary and multiscale modelling approaches to solve fundamental challenges in active ingredient development for crop protection.
Requirements
  • Strong academic background in statistics and predictive modelling.
  • Knowledge of data-science, analytics and modelling tooling.
  • Scientific domain knowledge in relevant fields.
  • Experience in developing models relevant to biological or crop protection outcomes.
  • Ability to analyse and extract insights from data.
  • Effective communication skills to convey complex data concepts to specialist and non-specialist audiences.
