Lead Data Architect PostgreSQL

Transforming Data with Relational Expertise.

Our organization seeks a visionary Lead Data Architect to spearhead the development of our relational data systems.

  • Schemadesign & Modeling : Collaborate in designing logical and physical data models that seamlessly integrate with complex, multi-tenant applications.
  • Database Optimization : Develop query optimization and partitioning strategies to maximize performance and reliability across distributed environments.
  • Integration & Sync : Support ETL/ELT processes while ensuring robust data synchronization across diverse platforms.
  • Governance & Security : Establish standards for data quality, retention, lineage, and compliance adhering to SOC2 and GDPR regulations.
  • Collaboration : Partner closely with developers and product teams to guarantee the database architecture aligns with real-world use cases.
  • Documentation & Standards : Define naming conventions, coding standards, and best practices to ensure long-term maintainability.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Strong proficiency in relational database design (PostgreSQL highly preferred), along with:

  • Expert-level SQL skills and knowledge of query optimization techniques.
  • Experience with schema normalization/denormalization, and effective partitioning strategies.
  • Familiarity with backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery planning concepts.
  • A solid understanding of security best practices: encryption, access controls, and auditing methodologies.
  • Background in designing scalable, transactional systems.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications

The following qualifications are considered desirable:

  • Knowledge of replication patterns, logical decoding, or offline-first synchronization techniques.
  • Understanding of PostgreSQL internals and extension ecosystem, including PostGIS and pg_partman.
  • Comfort working within cloud-native environments with CI/CD and containerized deployments.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts for reporting and analytics purposes.
