Position Overview

We are on the lookout for a skilled Engineering Manager to enhance our expanding Cloud Architecture & Engineering division. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to lead a team of Architects and Engineers while demonstrating a commitment to collaborating with our clients, partners, and team members to propel the business forward. Your role will involve working closely with Caylent's Architects, Engineers, and Engagement Managers to implement AWS cloud solutions for our varied and innovative clientele.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of up to six (6) Architects and Engineers.
  • Conduct technical interviews for prospective Architect and Engineer candidates.
  • Manage the staffing process and monitor business metrics for your team.
  • Serve as the technical delivery lead for up to three (3) concurrent projects.
  • Provide technical mentorship to Architects and Engineers on various engagements.
  • Hold regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports to support their career growth.
  • Enhance and refine operational practices and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in a hands-on technical capacity.
  • Proficient in working with AWS technologies.
  • Prior experience in managing and mentoring a technical team.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • A passion for working in a startup atmosphere and the capability to be cross-functional.
  • A natural curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies.
  • Exemplify and promote Caylent's core values.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Migrations
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD)
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Pulumi, etc.
  • Scripting
  • Containerization technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, ECS, Fargate, etc.)
  • Cloud Security Best Practices
  • Networking
  • Incident, release, problem, and change management processes
