Cloud Data Architect Position Overview

This role involves driving the future of our fully managed cloud service, focusing on developing a harmonized cloud platform for trusted data insights.

The successful candidate will work in a diverse and distributed team to create architecture and technology strategy that meets the needs of business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define the general and future architecture for the BDC&I cloud platform and service, utilizing leading-edge technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and business partners to understand scenarios and needs, aligning concepts within the unit and across the organization.
  • Develop required organizational and process networks within development, working with product management to ensure adoption of concepts by development teams.
  • Lead and align architecture topics across the company via central alignment boards.
  • Drive architecture and technology strategy into project work with SAP BDC&I and LoB development organizations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms, analytics, data management, and data integration technologies.
  • Knowledge of Lakehouse architectures and data fabric topics.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new environments, balance tradeoffs, and think pragmatically with a long-term view.
  • Experience with AI technologies for data management and analytics, contributing to technical building blocks for global Business AI.
