The Medical Lab Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of medical test results. This laboratory professional will be responsible for performing various tests and procedures, analyzing and interpreting results, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities:- Testing and Analysis: Perform laboratory tests and procedures, including hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and immunology.
- Result Reporting: Analyze and interpret test results, and report findings to healthcare professionals.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all tests performed and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Equipment Maintenance: Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Quality Control: Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Education: Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or Medical Technologist.
- Certification: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by a recognized accrediting agency.
- Experience: Experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Skills: Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures, ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
