Blood Component Laboratory Technician Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the production of safe blood components for hospitals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manufacture high-quality blood products according to strict regulations.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Manage inventory and track supplies effectively.
  • Identify and rectify any errors that may compromise product quality or safety.
  • Review testing records for completeness and accuracy.

Requirements:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with an associate's degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a production or manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • A background in healthcare, particularly in handling and processing blood specimens, is highly valued.
  • Experience working in a federally regulated environment (FDA/CLIA) is essential.
  • Strong computer skills, attention to detail, critical thinking abilities, and ability to follow standard operating procedures are crucial.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and listening abilities, are necessary to interact with employees of diverse backgrounds.

Work Environment:
  • This role reports directly to the Component Laboratory Manager at our Bethlehem location.
  • The position requires flexibility in scheduling but primarily works second shift hours (M-Th 3p-11p, Friday 12-8) with rotating weekends and holidays.
  • Physical demands include lifting up to 30 pounds, standing for extended periods, and performing precise movements.
