Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and analyzing the ground on which buildings and other structures will be erected, examining soil, checking underground water flow, and conducting other tests to ensure the stability of an area before construction begins.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of geotechnical engineering principles and practices, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. They will also be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients, both verbally and in writing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site investigations to assess soil stability and rock formations
- Design structural foundations and conduct environmental testing
- Analyze data from laboratory tests and field observations
- Develop plans and specifications for geotechnical projects
- Collaborate with other engineers and project managers to deliver projects on time and within budget
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or relevant experience
- 4+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering
- Professional Engineer licensure in Brazil (CREA)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
- Experience with geotechnical software packages such as LPile, AllPile, Driven, Shaft, Slope, Slide, DeepEX, WALLAP, Support-IT, CT Shoring Suite, Plaxis, Settle3, FoSSA
