About the Role

This is a high-ownership position for someone who's an expert in financial management, thrives in a remote environment, and enjoys leading others to operational excellence.

ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Coaching
  • Manage, coach, and mentor 2–3 bookkeepers while fostering a culture of ownership and accountability.
  • Perform regular quality reviews and coach staff on financial best practices, including client-specific standards.
  • Conduct performance check-ins and ensure timely completion of client deliverables.
Client Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex client queries.
  • Support clients directly during transitions and lead onboarding if necessary.
  • Ensure accurate and responsive communication, including written correspondence and live client calls.
Financial Oversight
  • Perform or supervise reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and vendor accounts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting: monthly closes, balance sheet reviews, and journal entries.
  • Manage vendor payments and reconcile AP / AR activity as needed.
Process & Tools Management
  • Own task management in project management tools, ensuring SOPs and workflows are followed and documented.
  • Maintain high-quality reporting and documentation using accounting software, Excel, and cloud tools.
  • Contribute to internal process improvement projects and cross-functional initiatives.
Strategic & Operational Contribution
  • Participate in leadership meetings and provide input on planning, growth strategy, and hiring needs.
  • Identify potential service improvements, automation opportunities, or workflow bottlenecks.
  • Work closely with senior management to support scalability and client satisfaction.
