Daily Responsibilities

  • Supplier Assessment: Collaborate with a cross-functional team to evaluate supplier capabilities, conduct audits of their quality management systems, and assess their processes.
  • Product and Process Validation: Lead teams in executing Product and Process Qualification (PPQ) for commodity components, ensuring adherence to established standards and guidelines. This includes planning, monitoring, and reporting on project milestones, as well as managing budget and resource allocation. Support quality assurance measures throughout the PPQ process and validate supplier processes via the Manufacturing Quality Control Plan.
  • Source Inspection: Conduct inspections of suppliers for commodity products within the Latin American region, focusing primarily on Brazil. Inspections may involve dimensional checks, welding assessments, coating evaluations, and more.
  • Non-Conformance Management: Identify and initiate containment actions for any non-conformances detected. Ensure timely follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Supplier Improvement Initiatives: Regularly analyze supplier quality metrics to support evaluations. Initiate and implement programs aimed at enhancing supplier quality, conduct root cause analyses, and define risk mitigation strategies.
  • Data Management: Oversee various Supplier Quality & Development tools and databases, ensuring data integrity and accessibility.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial engineering, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Preferred professional experience in supplier quality management or quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, both spoken and written.
  • Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, cutting, and coating.
  • Experience in supplier qualification, product/process validation, and technical supplier development to ensure a quality-assured supply base.
  • Extensive experience in conducting ISO 9001 audits of suppliers.
  • Strong background in working with machined components.
  • Expertise in GD&T, welding, and non-destructive evaluation (NDE).
  • Familiarity with national and international standards (ASME, ISO, AWS, etc.).
  • Basic electrical knowledge, including the ability to read schematics for motors and pumps, is advantageous.
  • Proficient in utilizing various databases, reporting tools, and digital platforms.
  • Experience collaborating with virtual, cross-functional teams in an international context.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and analytical, with strong leadership skills and intercultural competence.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
