Overview

The Hexagon's Autonomous Solutions division is seeking a Systems Test Specialist in the Agriculture sector to spearhead the evaluation of both hardware and software for our Agriculture solutions, focusing on areas such as GNSS, GPS, Inertial Navigation Systems, Vehicle Navigation, Tractor Steering and Guidance, Precision Agriculture, Sensor Fusion, and Camera-based navigation. Reporting to the Agriculture Test Engineering Manager, you will play a crucial role as an individual contributor, responsible for implementing software and systems testing methodologies while enhancing the Test Infrastructure relied upon by engineering teams. This position provides an opportunity to drive significant advancements and leverage contemporary technologies and methodologies.

Location

Hexagon operates globally with a presence in various regions. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement.

Responsibilities

As a Agricultural Systems Test Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and executing both automated and manual testing frameworks for Hexagon Autonomy & Positioning's agricultural solutions.
  • Advocating and leading best practices in software and systems testing.
  • Defining, developing, and implementing testing processes and tools.
  • Conducting tests on all software delivered according to established testing schedules and protocols, including thorough documentation.
  • Engaging and contributing to the Hexagon A&P's test engineering community of practice.
  • Developing, refining, monitoring, and reporting on performance and contextual metrics.
  • Creating data characterization models utilizing statistics, mathematics, and data analytics, while actively participating in the Hexagon A&P's Test Engineering Community of Practice.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in software test design and execution or software development with a significant focus on testing.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python programming and scripting tools.
  • Familiarity with GNSS technology and products.
  • Experience with version control systems such as GitLab or GitHub.
  • Background in test automation and/or experience within a structured software testing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to produce high-quality test reports, procedures, and related documentation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills in English to engage with all organizational levels.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years' experience in software test design and execution or software development with a substantial emphasis on testing.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Geomatics.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Understanding of data storage and database technologies, including SQL and NoSQL.
  • Experience with data analytics or business intelligence tools to process and visualize complex product performance datasets.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
  • Experience with web-based bug tracking and project management software (e.g., JIRA).
  • Previous experience in agriculture or farming.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering, V-model, or ASPICE methodologies.
