Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri)
Location: 100% remote (available for candidates in LATAM)
Overview:
Join our dynamic team at SkySys as a Java Developer, where you will play a pivotal role in an Agile/Scrum software development lifecycle. You will be responsible for developing applications within a fully automated DevOps, Cloud, and Microservices environment. Collaborate with business partners to ascertain requirements and design scalable, open solutions utilizing Cloud Native technologies, including AWS services, Machine Learning methodologies, GIT, Jenkins, Docker, and Terraform. Your expertise will primarily focus on Java and NodeJS technology stacks.
Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the team to fulfill the strategy, implementation, and workflow of Media/Digital Asset Management systems. Draft technical specifications based on functional requirements. Engage in a development team, contributing to both new and existing applications. Provide basic support and debugging in testing and production environments. Maintain and enhance existing applications. Act as a key contributor in an agile sprint team, executing sprints on both new and existing applications. Identify and escalate issues as necessary. Develop applications designed for scalability in cloud environments such as GCP or AWS. Create high-traffic APIs and websites. Operate within a DevOps framework. Implement solutions in a fully automated CI/CD environment. Design and develop secure, public-facing applications prioritizing performance and security. Gain hands-on experience with software design and development. Support a high-availability environment with 24/7 operations. Experience in building and deploying video players, transcoding, and streaming solutions is a plus.
Required Skills: Proficient in Core Java and Spring Boot. Strong understanding of multithreading and AWS. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills. Experience in designing and developing large, scalable systems. Familiarity with Cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Docker, Terraform, Kubernetes). Proficient in Build and CI/CD technologies (e.g., Maven, Jenkins). Develop and maintain high-quality applications using Java technology stack and object-oriented methodologies. Collaborate within Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies. Proficient with Java 8/Java EE, core Spring framework, Hibernate/JPA, Git, Linux, and application servers. Experience in building, maintaining, and debugging cloud-native production-grade applications on AWS. Sound knowledge of RESTful Webservice design, NoSQL and SQL database design, and transaction management principles. Experience with web application development, including OWF, Servlets, Grails, Play, MVC, JSON, XHTML, HTML5, CSS, SASS/LESS, Angular, Vue, or ReactJS (ReactJS preferred). Experience with algorithm implementation and distributed message or stream processing frameworks in a cloud environment. Familiarity with Digital Media environments. Exposure to Test Driven Development (TDD) principles. Experience mentoring junior developers and utilizing peer programming techniques. Adhere to departmental standards, policies, procedures, and industry best practices. Flexibility to work hours based on project requirements.
