Cloud Technologies Lead

This role involves overseeing the development of cloud-based technologies, focusing on Python as the primary programming language. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be able to convey technical concepts clearly. They will also facilitate discussions with stakeholders, provide project updates, and mentor team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-performance cloud technologies using Python;
  • Design and deliver high-quality solutions and code;
  • Implement unit tests to improve the software development life cycle;
  • Investigate and resolve issues reported during testing and customer integration;
  • Collaborate in an agile software development process;
  • Work with a team focused on containerization, virtualization, and fault-tolerant/carrier-grade development;
  • Contribute to a highly available orchestration platform used for private cloud deployments worldwide.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong backend development skills (preferably in Python), including Linux Essentials;
  • Moderate knowledge of hardware, processes, programs, and Linux Operating System components;
  • Proficiency in working on the command line and with files;
  • Ability to create and restore compressed backups and archives;
  • Understanding of system security, including users/groups and file permissions;
  • Knowledge of creating and running simple scripts;
  • Experience with Linux File System;
  • Interest in working on development and troubleshooting of a highly distributed orchestration platform supporting multiple vendors;
  • Experience collaborating effectively across remote teams and time zones, and collaborating with Senior Technical Leaders;
  • Experience with GIT, Jira, Gitlab, and code review tools;
  • Experience with Cloud Storage;
  • Strong computer networking knowledge on the application and transport layers.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with container technologies like Docker and Linux Containers;
  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts, including SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS;
  • Experience with Kubernetes Cluster Administration and App Development;
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and RabbitMQ as a developer;
  • Experience with Docker and Helm.
