About Data Engineers

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and powering data-driven decisions. By leveraging new technology, you will ensure that all stakeholders in the organization can efficiently access reliable and accurate data.

Data engineers develop, implement, and refine the standards, tools, and methodologies that make up the desired analysis environment within the organization.

The role is focused on creating a strong data foundation within our organization that keeps everyone informed and moving forward.

We are looking for an experienced data engineer to join our team and contribute to the development and implementation of scalable and efficient data analytics architecture.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of modern data platforms and experience in cloud technologies, data modelling, and designing/implementing scalable and efficient ETL/ELT pipelines.

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver business insights and reporting by consolidating various data sources to understand business performance.

You will also be responsible for sourcing, collecting, and researching new internal and open-source external data sets, and defining and implementing data governance processes.

Requirements:

  • Education: University degree in physics, math, computer science or a related field.
  • Experience: Professional experience in related role and/or demonstrated competency (projects) utilizing relevant technologies.
  • Modern Data Platforms: Good understanding of concepts and technologies underpinning modern data platforms (storage, compute, etc.) and how they fit into the bigger picture.
  • Cloud Technologies and Data Modelling: Experience in cloud technologies, data modelling and designing/implementing scalable and efficient ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Programming Skills: Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
  • ML/AI and MLOps: Understanding of ML/AI and MLOps challenges.
  • Databricks Experience: Familiarity with Databricks is a plus.
  • Data Governance: Understanding and experience in solving data governance challenges utilizing modern technology.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain technical issues, solutions and results to a non-technical audience.
  • Languages: Strong proficiency in both English.
