Job Summary

The role of the Bid Development Specialist is a vital position within our organization. This professional will work closely with the sales team to research and understand customer needs, develop compelling proposals that showcase our solutions, and lead post-submission exercises such as presentations and clarifications.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough research on customers to grasp their environment, politics, limitations, hot points, and other factors that will translate to a winning response.
  • Provide constructive feedback to account managers, sales managers, and directors regarding current and anticipated proposal documents.
  • Assemble stakeholders (proposal project team) to identify roles, responsibilities, and timelines.
  • Engage internal and external resources to develop a pricing strategy and account for applicable costs.
  • Prepare professionally written responses to proposal documents that specifically address customer requirements.
  • Document and report on project status, including capture information and close out of opportunities.
  • Participate in department-sponsored training programs and contribute to shared resources through content library development.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Two years of writing or editorial experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Office Applications and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong organization, time management, attention to detail, and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
  • General IT product, contract, and customer knowledge.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Working knowledge of purchasing requirements.
  • Familiarity with proposal assembly software.
