As an Engineering Manager, you will be at the forefront of our comprehensive suite of multi-cloud and on-premise data solutions for the enterprise.

Our team is dedicated to making it easy to operate any database on any cloud or on premise. We cover the full range of data stores and technologies, spanning from big data, NoSQL, cache-layer capabilities, and analytics, all the way to structured SQL engines like Postgres and MySQL.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead a team building scalable data solutions for Kubernetes and cloud machines.
  2. Hire, coach, mentor, provide feedback, and lead by example.
  3. Demonstrate sound engineering skill by directly contributing code when needed.
  4. Effectively set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders.
  5. Advocate modern, agile software development practices.
  6. Develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices.
  7. Ensure that your team delivers excellent products that users love by maintaining a culture of quality and engineering excellence.
  8. Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with our values.
  9. Be an active part of the leadership team and collaborate with other leaders in the organization.

Requirements

  1. A software engineering background, preferably with Python and Golang experience.
  2. Experience running in production and at scale, preferably Big Data or MySQL.
  3. Excellent judgement about people - their motivations, abilities, developmental needs, and prospects for success.
  4. Proven ability to build high-quality, open-source software.
  5. Proven to drive good engineering practices around performance and quality.
  6. An open-minded attitude to new technologies and the drive to push the boundaries of what is possible.
  7. The ambition to build products that improve how people operate software and infrastructure everywhere.
  8. Love developing and growing people and have a track record of doing it.
  9. Knowledgeable and passionate about software development.
