We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Application & Testing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering group, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and deploying mainframe applications.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and supporting mainframe applications using COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, Easytrieve, REXX/CLIST, and other programming languages.
  • Writing and debugging JCL for batch processing and job automation.
  • Performing database operations and validations using DB2, IMS DB, and IDMS.
  • Testing online applications running on CICS and IMS DC.
  • Conducting unit, integration, regression, and performance testing.
  • Supporting UAT cycles and assisting users with test execution and defect resolution.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Strong knowledge of z/OS environment, including TSO/ISPF, SDSF, datasets (PS, PDS, VSAM), and JCL.
  • Programming languages: COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, RPG, Easytrieve, and REXX/CLIST.
  • Databases: DB2, IMS DB, IDMS.
  • Transaction monitors: CICS, IMS DC.
  • Understanding of SDLC and Agile/Waterfall models.
  • Application analysis, enhancements, and defect fixing.
  • Code review and integration with source management tools.
  • Testing skills: unit testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing, and performance testing.
