Trade Operations Specialist

This role coordinates import and export processes for construction equipment, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.

  • Preparation and review of documents such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin to ensure compliance with international standards and regulations.
  • Clearance process monitoring with customs brokers and regulatory agencies, issue resolution, and efficient release of goods.
  • Negotiation of delivery terms and contracts with international suppliers and logistics providers.
  • Tracking of import duties, taxes, freight, and storage costs, proposal of strategies to reduce expenses, and streamlining of operations.
  • Collaboration with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure equipment availability and traceability.
  • Risk identification related to delays, currency fluctuations, trade sanctions, and regulatory changes.
  • Reporting on costs, lead times, volumes, and trade performance to support decision-making.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, Engineering, Logistics, Foreign Trade, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in import/export operations, preferably in the construction or heavy equipment sector.
  • Practical knowledge of Incoterms, HS codes, SISCOMEX, Drawback, and special customs regimes.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, TOTVS) and trade compliance platforms.
  • Intermediate to advanced English; Spanish or Mandarin is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with imports from China.
  • Technical understanding of construction equipment specifications and handling.
  • Certifications in foreign trade or international logistics.
  • Familiarity with Brazilian tax regimes (ICMS-ST, II, IPI, PIS/COFINS).
