Role Overview:

As a freelance Assistant Video Editor, you will provide essential editing support to Fetchly Labs' internal creative team. You will be assigned to specific client groups and will be responsible for processing user-generated content (UGC), creating video selects, cropping images for social media, and assembling, revising, and finalizing editing projects based on provided creative direction and performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Crop images for various social media formats.
  • Process UGC footage into select compilations.
  • Edit engaging digital advertising video content for social media platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams, strategists, data analysts, and other team members.
  • Communicate effectively with client group Creative Producers and Leads to ensure edits align with performance objectives.
  • Implement creative direction and feedback from team members and clients.
  • Develop both original and iterative video advertisements, drawing inspiration from top-performing content.
  • Enhance the viewer's experience through thoughtful storytelling, composition, shot selection, and pacing.
  • Apply performance editing best practices to maximize viewer engagement.
  • Thoroughly review completed work for technical accuracy and quality, ensuring compliance with brand and legal standards.
  • Deliver edits and revisions by established deadlines.
  • Maintain organized project files and adhere to internal post-production guidelines.
  • Contribute to the sourcing of internal and external media assets.
  • Work with a growing list of Direct-to-Consumer brands.

  • 3+ years of editing experience.
  • 1+ years of experience editing for social media and digital platforms, with a focus on advertising content.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop.
  • Experience in creating videos from the ground up.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Solid graphic design abilities and written communication skills.
  • Must pass a Technology Audit to be considered.
  • Availability during US daytime hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 6:00 pm MT).
  • Familiarity with Motion Graphic Templates and Premiere's Essential Graphics Panel.
  • Understanding of social media best practices and trends.
  • Proficient in online editing skills, including color correction and sound mixing.
  • Knowledge of digital camera formats, frame rates, codecs, and file-based workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Able to take direction and conduct thorough reviews of your work.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Zoom, Monday, and Slack.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Professional demeanor in a remote-first setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working collaboratively with other editors, producers, and writers.
  • Motion Graphics and Design experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience creating videos specifically for social media.
