Commercial Director Job Description

This role oversees the development and execution of commercial strategies for infrastructure projects from tender to completion.

The Commercial Manager will lead contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with legal standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage commercial strategies for infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting to ensure profitability.
  • Lead contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Administer major infrastructure contracts and manage claims, variations, and dispute resolution.
  • Monitor project financial performance and provide regular commercial reports to senior leadership.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineer, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB, PMP) is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience in commercial roles within infrastructure construction.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure contract frameworks and public procurement processes.
  • Experience managing large-scale civil engineering projects with complex stakeholder environments.
