Position Overview
The Data Center Capacity Delivery team is seeking outstanding professionals to join our ranks as a Controls Manager. This role is pivotal in overseeing the deployment and maintenance of building management systems and electrical power monitoring systems (BMS/EPMS) within Amazon's data centers.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee remote teams across Latin America.
- Travel is essential: anticipate up to 50% travel to various job sites across Latin American nations to facilitate construction and data center product delivery.
- Establish, execute, and monitor team objectives while reporting to stakeholders and leadership.
- Conduct interviews and create onboarding plans for new team members, identifying the needs of the team.
- Demonstrate expertise in the installation, programming, and troubleshooting of BMS/EPMS systems and/or industrial control systems.
- Exhibit strong written communication skills, articulating ideas clearly and concisely.
- Possess a solid understanding of electrical diagrams, control diagrams, building operations, control circuits, and industrial HVAC systems.
- Assess customer requirements to assist in developing project scopes and specifications.
- Manage project engineering to define the scope of work in alignment with customer design intents.
- Interpret and implement specifications relevant to the work environment.
- Develop drawings for control panels, power distribution, and junction boxes, including general arrangements, internal layouts, schematics, and interconnection diagrams.
- Create logic diagrams in the International Automation format for complex logic devices such as Programmable Logic Controllers and Distributed Control Systems.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of facility systems.
- Provide technical support as required to internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate project activities internally and externally to ensure timely project completion within budget constraints.
Basic Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering disciplines with a minimum of 10 years of experience in controls; or an Associate's degree with 12+ years of experience; or a High School diploma with 15 years of experience in controls.
- Over 10 years of experience in managing, mentoring, and leading teams of construction professionals.
- Over 10 years of experience in hiring, promoting, and developing teams of construction professionals.
- More than 10 years of experience with industrial controls in critical environments (data centers, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, oil & gas, petrochemical, laboratories, power, water, etc.).
- 10+ years of general project or vendor management experience related to construction and project execution.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Portuguese for effective communication at construction job sites across Latin America.
Preferred Qualifications
- M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, HVAC, or related fields with 10 years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in designing data centers, control systems, or critical MEP infrastructure.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification, LEED accreditation.
- Prior experience with AWS/Amazon.
- 5+ years of military service.
- Proficiency in English, Portuguese, and Spanish for effective communication at construction job sites across Latin America.
