About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Credit Associate to join our Credit Strategy & Standards (CSS) Group at Moody's Corporation. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the consistency and accuracy of our credit ratings and rating approaches.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform in-depth analysis of macroeconomic and financial forecasts, including consumer and labor market trends, key policy changes, elections, and trade.
  • Support the Latin America Strategy & Research function in monitoring and analyzing regional trends, macroeconomic developments, policy changes, and country-specific and sector-specific economic, fiscal, and political developments.
  • Develop a deep understanding of key factors that affect sector credit trends, including sovereigns, corporates, banks, and infrastructure.
  • Gather and analyze financial and credit data, prepare charts, update financial models, and prepare required documentation.
  • Assist in drafting and visualizing macroeconomic data analysis, public policy analysis, and thematic research publications.
  • Develop a working knowledge of credit fundamentals, including Moody's methodologies and credit rating best practices.
  • Monitor the credit industry by following market developments, identifying emerging trends and issues, and providing analysis for senior management and publication.
  • Contribute to research, including idea generation and preliminary drafting, and work with colleagues to draft presentations, infographics, or other media assets.
  • Collaborate in preparing analysis for outreach presentations.
  • Lead and project manage internal newsletters and memoranda.
Requirements
  • Minimum undergraduate/first-level degree in a relevant subject, such as finance, economics, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in economics, Public Policy, or Finance preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly.
  • Knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Coding experience, such as R, VBA, or Python, would be a significant advantage.
  • Proactive and able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
  • Able to work using own initiative without close supervision and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and prioritize tasks accordingly.
  • Some understanding of fixed income markets and/or credit knowledge is preferred. Previous experience in publishing research is desirable.
  • Relevant experience in credit or methodologies, including internships, is useful but not essential.
Additional Requirements
  • Familiarity with Latin American public policy and Latin American economies.
  • Strong knowledge of macroeconomic principles.
  • Quantitative and data analysis skills.
