The Perinatal Sonographer is responsible for performing various fetal examinations, assisting in invasive procedures, reporting results of sonographic examinations, and ensuring patient safety and comfort during ultrasound procedures. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
As a Perinatal Sonographer, you will work closely with physicians, genetic counselors, nurses, and referring providers to ensure comprehensive care. You will be responsible for preparing patients for examination, explaining procedures, and providing accurate and comprehensive preliminary reports on the Viewpoint system.
You will also be responsible for maintaining equipment, reporting equipment failures, and working in accordance with FPP and department policies regarding documentation and billing for ultrasound services.
