We are currently seeking an experienced Small Engine Repair Specialist to join our team at True North Equipment. As a valued member of our service department, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing small engines and compact tractors manufactured by John Deere.
Key Job Functions- Perform repairs and maintenance on small engines and compact tractors using technical manuals, diagnostic tools, and software.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly and effectively with customers about repair procedures and addressing their concerns.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure seamless operation and maximize customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in small engine and compact tractor technology.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, leadership, and customers to promote a positive and professional work environment.
- Essential Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in diagnosing and repairing machinery.
- Proven experience working as a technician in the agricultural or equipment industry, with specific expertise in servicing small engines and compact tractors.
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
- Familiarity with John Deere equipment and systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Must be able to work TNE service department hours as scheduled to include seasonal hours and seasonal Saturdays and keep reliable attendance.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in small engine repair/diesel mechanics or a related field preferred.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required to drive company-owned vehicles.
- Candidates must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
