Class Assistant Job Opportunity

This role is designed for a highly skilled and dedicated individual who can provide support to our teaching staff in creating a safe and stimulating environment that promotes pupil development academically, socially and personally.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to pupils' learning by assisting teachers in group situations and with individuals, following their guidance to maintain high expectations of teaching and learning.
  • Promote positive values, attitudes and good behaviour by adhering to our behaviour policy, thus developing pupils' confidence, sense of judgement and independence.
  • Assist in the organisation of the classroom environment and preparation of resources, ensuring they are available to maximise teaching and learning.
  • Establish a safe and respectful climate by supervising children, interacting, listening and mediating when conflicts arise, ensuring pupils' safety both physically and emotionally.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers through spoken or written communication, passing on key messages for consistency throughout the day.
  • Aid individual pupils or small groups by providing support when requested, enabling them to fully participate in activities.
  • Promote inclusion and acceptance by listening, valuing and helping each child feel successful in their learning.
  • Adhere to professional standards, speaking English at all times except during Portuguese lessons, and setting a good example in terms of uniform, punctuality, attendance and conduct.
  • Take advantage of professional development opportunities offered by the school, participating in staff meetings, INSET and training sessions to continuously develop knowledge and skills.

Working hours: 07h15 to 16h30, Monday to Friday.
