Job Opportunity:

Epic is looking for a passionate and experienced UI Artist to lead a team of artists working on major initiatives in Fortnite. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in generating and implementing pixel-perfect UI Art, as well as guiding a team to produce well-thought-out features and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of UI Artists to create high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, design systems, and implement AAA-quality UI Art in Unreal Engine 5.
  • Work collaboratively with UX Design, Tech Design, and Code to create exceptional user experiences.
  • Actively participate in the creation and implementation of design systems, game menus, HUD elements, iconography, UI materials and shaders, UI animation, and motion design.
  • Contribute to shipping product team features on time and to quality.
  • Flag new and emerging design patterns or systems from the product team to UI Art Directors.

Requirements:

  1. 7+ years of experience designing and implementing in-game UI, working in agile environments, and on multi-disciplinary teams.
  2. Experience with Figma, Adobe Suite, or other comparable design software.
  3. Portfolio demonstrating a keen eye for Motion Design and animation.
  4. Experience in creating 3D game assets in software packages like 3ds Max and/or Maya.

Additional Information:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a team of UI Artists, ensuring the quality and consistency of UI Art produced on the product team. The ideal candidate will also work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to create exceptional user experiences.
