About the Role

Caterpillar Brazil is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Procurement Director to lead our strategic synergies efforts. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing deep expertise and leading a globally diverse team of leaders and staff to create and sustain a high-performing global supply network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage strategic synergies by developing deep expertise and leading a globally diverse team of leaders and staff.
  • Create and sustain a high-performing global supply network.
  • Develop and implement Global localization strategies for SD&D's supply base.
  • Supervise a team of management and/or salaried employees, ensuring development and training of team members.
  • Perform analysis and generate reports to support business decisions.
  • Establish and foster collaborative relationships with process partners inside and outside the division.
Requirements
  • College / university degree.
  • Multi-business unit experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as leader of leaders.
  • 13 to 15 years of progressively responsible job / industry related experience.
  • Strong people leadership and organizational capability building.
  • Ability to set bold goals, strategies to achieve those goals, and turn strategies into action.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to build consensus and lead team through change management.
  • Exceptional leadership and networking skills.
  • Ability to be futuristic and proactive.
  • Experience in procurement and aftermarket parts operations/processes.
  • Ability to simplify complex information and develop clear communications and presentation materials to a variety of audiences.
  • Leader that demonstrates intellectual curiosity and encourages diverse thinking to promote and nurture innovation to implement new lean solutions.
  • Leader with continuous improvement mindset identifying defects, improving processes and tools, to optimize efficiency and output.
  • Ability to adapt to multiple cultures and countries; fluent in English.
  • 5+ years in project management.
  • PMP certification.
Preferred Skills
  • Category Management: Knowledge of category management within an organization's goods and services sector; ability to use this knowledge to analyze and improve the end-to-end procurement process and maximize business profitability.
  • Supplier Management - MFG: Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Knowledge of strategic sourcing methods, technologies and processes; ability to analyze, improve and re-evaluate organizational procurement process continuously.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
