Job Overview:

The Referral Coordinator will work under the supervision of a Senior Management team member to manage specialty referral orders. This includes obtaining insurance authorizations, attaching clinical documents, and submitting referrals to specialist offices.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, enabling them to effectively communicate with patients about referral details and document information in an electronic health record system.

A key responsibility of the Referral Coordinator will be to select referrals from assigned sites, review referral orders, and chart documents for appropriateness and completeness.

In addition, the coordinator will be responsible for contacting patients to confirm referrals, advising them of referral details, and obtaining insurance authorizations.

The Referral Coordinator will also collate electronic documents relevant to referral orders and submit them to specialists, while documenting actions in the electronic health record system and selecting follow-up from assigned sites.
