Position Overview

Olympus is in search of a seasoned legal professional to provide comprehensive legal support for its operations across Latin America. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in a corporate setting and within highly regulated industries, taking charge of advising and collaborating with both regional and global leadership on all legal transactional matters. This role is crucial in ensuring that the organization adheres to all relevant laws and regulations throughout the Latin American region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary legal advisor for Olympus Latin America, offering guidance on a wide array of subjects, including commercial agreements, distribution and sales agency, anti-corruption policies, healthcare regulations, labor laws, and general legal concerns.
  • Collaborate with business units to identify legal risks, provide proactive advice, and work together to mitigate potential issues.
  • Offer insights on risks and best practices concerning local and international anti-corruption legislation.
  • Negotiate and draft various commercial agreements. Assist in the establishment and documentation of sales initiatives and promotions.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with Olympus' Regional Associate General Counsel regarding legal matters.
  • Design, adapt, implement, and deliver training on legal issues, policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute to the formulation of policies and standards.
  • Oversee engagements with external legal counsel, including managing budgets and fees.
Qualifications
  • Active member of the bar in Brazil, Mexico, or the US in good standing is required.
  • Over 10 years of legal experience, with prior in-house practice in a multinational corporation.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry is essential.
  • Proven ability to deliver clear and consistent legal advice.
  • Advanced proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
