Role Overview
Key Responsibilities:
- Articulate risk appetite and Casualty Value Proposition to brokers.
- Collaborate with Distribution and other underwriting lines to identify desirable accounts and cross-selling opportunities from brokers.
- Swiftly assess, prioritize, and select submissions for underwriting.
- Identify and create cross-selling opportunities for additional AIG General Insurance products.
- Engage with brokers to comprehend deal structures, terms, and AIG Services that best align with clients' needs.
- Negotiate pricing, terms & conditions, and deal structures with brokers and clients.
- Contribute to special underwriting projects as required.
- Establish strong, long-term relationships with brokers and clients to profitably expand a book of business.
- Ensure adherence to product guidelines in risk selection while achieving rate, renewal retention, and new business objectives.
- Mentor and train less experienced underwriters.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to brokers and clients.
- Complete technical raters and maintain organized file management.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in underwriting or brokerage.
- Preferably knowledgeable in writing Captive risks or large SIR accounts.
- Progress in Insurance examinations is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate and sustain strong professional relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly driven and results-oriented.
- Adept at working in a dynamic, rapidly evolving environment, adjusting to changing requirements while collaborating with diverse colleagues to deliver solutions promptly.
- Willingness to adapt, learn on the job, and maintain a positive attitude.
- Comfortable with analytical tools and technology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
