Role Summary

We seek a seasoned professional to occupy the position of Senior Risk Specialist in LATAM. The ideal candidate will possess a background in Engineering, Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics and have prior experience working in Fintechs and Financial Institutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and second-line risk management advice and oversight to entities within the Latin America region. This includes:

  • Daily monitoring of key risk indicators related to financial risks (capital, market, and liquidity risk)
  • Developing financial risk indicators, reports, and policies, including foreign exchange exposure, value-at-risk, intraday exposure, liquidity buffer, liquidity coverage ratio, Basel index, and risk-weighted assets
  • Preparing prudential and regulatory reports for countries in the Latam region related to financial risks
  • Implementing short- and long-term stress testing (wind-down plan, prudential forecast, etc.)

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Defining and implementing metrics for evaluating and controlling financial risks in line with group methodology
  • Preparing and providing training for employees on financial risk management
  • Collaborating closely with the first line of defense to support projects involving new products and markets

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A background in Engineering, Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics with prior experience working in Fintechs and Financial Institutions
  • Experience working with financial risk requirements under Basel III/IV
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (macros and VBA), Python, and SQL
  • Fluency in English and Spanish with strong communication skills (written and oral)

Key responsibilities include building financial risk indicators, preparing reports, and providing risk management advice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, along with proficiency in financial software and programming languages.
