About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Portuguese-English Interpreter to join our team at Homeland Language Services. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality interpreting services to our clients worldwide.

Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate and professional interpreting services over the phone, ensuring seamless communication between non-English and English speakers.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple calls simultaneously and maintaining a high level of accuracy and expertise.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of medical terminology, industry-specific vocabulary, and cultural nuances to provide exceptional service.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and stay up-to-date with industry standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure effective communication and achieve shared goals.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in both English and Portuguese, with a native-level understanding of one language and a high level of proficiency in the other.
  • At least 1 year of interpreting experience, preferably in a healthcare or medical setting.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and industry-specific vocabulary.
  • High emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, and tolerance to work effectively with diverse clients and teams.
  • Excellent communication, listening, and note-taking skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
