Job Title

Role Summary

The incumbent will oversee tax and reporting compliance in Brazil, ensuring accurate and timely financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive process excellence for accounting operations in Brazil, implementing updated processes to improve efficiency.
  • Manage order management and operational billing, collaborating with business development, legal, and tax teams to optimize the order-to-cash process.
  • Supervise tax and reporting compliance for Brazil, ensuring adherence to GAAP and local statutory standards.
  • Manage relationships with independent public accountants, third-party accounting firms, and external tax advisors.
  • Oversee local accounting and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor the accounting function using established metrics / key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Review and coordinate monthly balance sheet reconciliations for revenue-related accounts.
  • Coordinate audits for US GAAP and statutory purposes, ensuring timely completion.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls over company assets, revenue, costs, and program budgets.
  • Lead and manage direct reports, providing mentorship and coaching.
  • Collaborate with finance planning and analysis to provide financial data and present financial reports, monitoring progress and changes.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Protect operations by maintaining confidentiality of financial information and plans.
  • Provide leadership in strengthening internal communications with staff at all levels.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration.
  • 10+ years of related experience in finance and accounting for a major multinational company or division of a large corporation.
  • Local CPA or public accounting required, with Big 4 at a supervisory level preferred.
  • Ability to speak English fluently; knowledge of Spanish preferred.
  • Prior experience working with accounting systems, financial reports, audits, and corporate tax required.
  • Prior experience in billing operations and revenue recognition in a leadership role.
  • International accounting and Brazilian tax experience required.
  • Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including experience presenting key data to regional management and corporate teams.
