About the Role

We're seeking a seasoned technical leader to spearhead the Plank Product Engineering lab in a key location. The Plank Product Engineering lab collaborates with fast-growing technology companies to tackle complex problems in web and mobile programming, leveraging the latest frameworks and building products used by millions worldwide.

As a product lab leader, you will play a pivotal role in establishing, growing, and mentoring a team of exceptional product engineers. You will have the opportunity to work across multiple technologies, domains, and problem scales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, develop, and scale a high-performing team of engineers
  • Oversee multiple technical leads responsible for various projects
  • Implement and manage the Plank Product lab fellowship program
  • Ensure the team adheres to the company's culture and values
  • Develop and execute performance evaluation processes for the team
  • Act as a Plank ambassador in the local tech ecosystem
  • Collaborate with the team to resolve complex technical challenges
  • Ensure customer satisfaction for projects within the lab
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering and 2+ years as a technical lead or engineering manager
  • Ability to thrive in an autonomous and responsible environment
  • Clear and persuasive communication and decision-making skills
  • Strong technical foundation to guide architectural and technical decisions
  • Experience with Typescript, React, Node stack for building web and mobile applications
  • Deep understanding of end-to-end application development across frontend, mobile, backend, and devops
  • Ability to roll up sleeves and contribute to code-level problem-solving
  • Capacity to take a cross-functional view across technology, product, and business
  • Interest in mentoring and nurturing junior engineers
  • Passion for Computer Science
