About WBL California, LLC

WBL California, LLC specializes in providing general purpose short-term commercial loans secured by real estate to a diverse clientele of small and medium-sized enterprises across the United States that face challenges in accessing conventional financing.

This role is a Contract/Consultant position. The typical working hours are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday through Friday, although additional hours may be necessary based on operational demands. Proficiency in both oral and written English is essential. Resumes must be submitted in English.

This position is fully remote.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Controller to finalize monthly financial statements and assume responsibilities as the second-in-command.
  • Manage accounting for loans, fixed assets, non-performing loans (NPL), real estate owned (REO) assets, fees, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and other accounts in accordance with FAS 91 accounting standards.
  • Perform reconciliation of select general ledger accounts, including cash and accrual accounts.
  • Coordinate with Loan Administration regarding the recording of loan updates and related data in the accounting system.
  • Oversee the annual generation and filing of 1099 forms with the IRS.
  • Engage in special projects, including the automation of processes through internal initiatives or third-party vendors, and other duties as assigned in support of the Corporate Controller.
  • Ensure timely payments to vendors and monitor accounts payable aging analysis.
  • Facilitate wire transfers, ACH transactions, and book transfers.
  • Communicate with vendors as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls.
  • Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Demonstrate 100% fluency in English, with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Have 5-10 years of general accounting experience and proven technical accounting expertise.
  • Experience with Sage GL and Accounts Payable is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Be knowledgeable in IFRS and/or GAAP accounting standards.
  • Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint; experience with Teams is a plus.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Exhibit a proactive approach and a strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
  • This is a Contract/Consultant position.
  • Compensation is dependent on experience.
  • Enjoy 11 paid holidays in the United States.
