Job Title: Security Expert

The position of Security Expert requires an individual to be part of a team dedicated to providing security coverage across various ecosystems and environments.

  • Responsibilities include monitoring, triaging, responding to, and documenting new and existing vulnerabilities in open source software.
  • Collaboration with internal teams and external partners is essential for identifying issues, prioritizing them, and coordinating remediation.
  • The successful candidate will produce security assessments, build features, conduct code reviews, develop internal tools, engage with the open source community, and participate in industry initiatives and events.
Requirements:
  • A thorough understanding of common categories of security vulnerabilities and techniques for fixing them is necessary.
  • Familiarity with coordinated disclosure practices is also required.
  • The ideal candidate will have knowledge of open source development tools and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C, Python, Go, Rust, Java, Ruby, PHP, or JavaScript/TypeScript is expected.
  • Excellent logic, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills are essential.
  • The ability to clearly and effectively communicate with the team and other community members is crucial.
