Job Opportunity

As a junior database administrator, you will support the design, maintenance, and performance of databases. This entry-level role focuses on assisting with day-to-day administration tasks, monitoring systems, and troubleshooting under senior team members.

This position requires a basic understanding of SQL queries and relational database concepts. The ideal candidate should have experience in AWS RDS, ECS, and Azure SQL Database, VM, Managed Instance, as well as knowledge of backup and recovery processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing SQL Server databases and SQL Agent jobs.
  • Perform backups, integrity checks, and manage indexes.
  • Support database performance tuning and basic troubleshooting.
  • Help troubleshoot basic database performance issues and escalate complex problems.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks such as index optimization and integrity checks.
  • Respond to incidents and service requests related to SQL databases.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation, especially as it relates to configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Work with developers to ensure efficient SQL queries and structures.
  • Participate in deployments, updates, and database migrations.
  • Support data security and backup/restore practices.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency in alignment with company standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 0-2 years of experience in database support, administration, or related IT role.
  • Basic understanding of SQL queries and relational database concepts.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow technical expertise.
