Job Title: Cloud Computing Leader As a cloud computing leader, you will be responsible for leading a globally distributed team of engineers in delivering cloud-init solutions for customizing cloud instances. You will work with product management to define the vision and strategy for our cloud services and your team. You will effectively set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a globally distributed team of engineers in delivering cloud-init solutions.
  • Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development.
  • Work with product management to define the vision and strategy for our cloud services and your team.
  • Effectively set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders.
 Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices. Develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices. Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with company values. Participate in strong engineering processes through code and architectural review. Engage with teams at Canonical, the open source community, and commercial partners. Oversee the quality of the Ubuntu Server image family. Plan and deliver Ubuntu Server features. Success in this role requires 3+ years of experience in leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring software developers. Experience managing distributed teams is a plus. Focus on success and timely delivery of high-quality software. Experience working in an agile development environment is necessary. A Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Science, STEM, or similar field is required. Strong written and verbal technical communication skills in English are essential. Practical experience with a modern GNU/Linux distribution, Debian or Ubuntu, is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or Amazon Web Services is also desirable. Requirements:
  • Experience in leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring software developers.
  • Strong written and verbal technical communication skills in English.
  • Experience with a modern GNU/Linux distribution, Debian or Ubuntu, preferred.
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or Amazon Web Services, desirable.
