Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Electrical Engineer to join our team in Rio de Janeiro.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, startup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our products.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled engineer who enjoys working independently and has a high level of accountability.

As a Field Service Electrical Engineer, you will play a vital role in creating products that meet both business and technical needs of our customers.

You will oversee the installation, commissioning, startup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our products.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Commissioning HV Generators, Motors, Synchronous condensers, Power management systems, Electrical protection systems, Excitation Controllers, and Synchronising equipment.
  • Performing work according to health and safety procedures applicable to the job site, including HV safety, lock out tag out, permit to work systems, and risk and method statements.
  • Conducting upgrades to AVRS, PMS systems, Synchronisers, Protection relays, and other control elements.
  • Carrying out electrical testing on high and low voltage equipment and machine windings in the field.
  • Maintaining records and preparing method statements and risk assessments.
Required Skills and Qualifications

A graduate degree or bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.

Alternatively, a recognized craft apprenticeship in electrical engineering and significant experience gained working in the field, along with a technical qualification in an electrical or electronic discipline.

High-level knowledge of electrical power and distribution systems.

Self-reliance, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills, as well as commercial awareness.

An effective communicator fluent in both spoken and written English and Portuguese.

Ability to undertake extensive overseas and offshore working.

Experience representing the company at customer sites and operating remotely on own initiative.
