Job Title: Logistics Specialist Lead

 

The Logistics Specialist Lead will work alongside subordinates to accomplish daily hands-on tasking requirements. This position is responsible for leading the station Logistics Department through managing daily tasking requirements and workflow. The individual in this role will work closely with shipping agents to ensure south-bound cargo movement and requests for resupply materials.

 

This role involves a combination of leadership, coordination, and operational tasks. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising subordinates, evaluating their performance, and making recommendations for professional development. They will also be responsible for managing data entry, maintaining accurate inventory records, and completing reports for management review.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage process and ensure all operations procedures are followed effectively.
  • Coach and develop associates in daily operations, monitor productivity, safety, service, and quality.
  • Drive results by tracking south-bound cargo, preparing manifests, and submitting reports.

 

Requirements:

  • Associate degree required or two years' experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum three+ years' experience working in inventory materials management, purchasing, warehousing, cargo, transportation, or supply chain logistics.

 

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical, organization, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

 

Physical and/or Other Requirements:

  • Willingness and ability to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods.
  • Successful completion of medical and dental examinations required by NSF.
