Job Title: Senior Data Architect

We are seeking an experienced data architect to lead our data platform strategy and implementation.

About the Role:

The Senior Data Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale data systems in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and beyond. This role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our data architecture supports current and future business needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Design and evolve robust architectures for data lakes, data warehouses, data marts, and operational data stores in cloud environments.
  2. Develop and optimize real-time and batch data pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow, Pentaho, PL/SQL, and Bash scripting.
  3. Architect and implement parallel processing workflows to support high-volume ingestion and transformation of structured and unstructured data.
  4. Deliver AI-driven data insights for the foodservice industry and leverage AI tools to increase the rate of delivery for engineering projects.
  5. Ensure data quality and governance across the entire pipeline lifecycle.
  6. Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate functional and non-functional requirements into technical data architecture solutions.
  7. Lead and mentor data engineers and cross-functional teams in best practices for data modeling, pipeline design, and cloud infrastructure optimization.
  8. Establish data standards, policies, and frameworks to ensure data security, compliance, and operational resilience.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years in data architecture or senior-level data engineering roles, with strong experience in OCI and enterprise-scale data systems.
  • Hands-on technical skill: Deep knowledge of PL/SQL, Bash scripting, parallel data processing, AI/ML modeling, and performance optimization in a cloud environment.
  • Cloud-native thinking: Strong experience designing scalable systems and cloud-first data platforms.
  • Pipeline mastery: Skilled in building and maintaining modern ETL/ELT pipelines, real-time data flows, and orchestration with Apache Airflow or similar.
  • Governance & validation: Strong grasp of data quality, data validation, metadata management, and governance best practices.
  • Tool agnostic: Comfortable working with multiple tools, platforms, and formats.
  • Business alignment: Ability to understand the needs of business and analytics teams and deliver high-performing data architectures to meet those needs.
  • Team leader: Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills; experience leading cross-functional efforts and mentoring engineers.
