Electrical Distribution Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Distribution Systems Engineer to excel in designing and developing electrical distribution systems. As a key member of our Power Delivery team, you will be responsible for conceptualizing and detailing overhead and underground lines.

About the Role
  • Prepare technical deliverables associated with designing electrical distribution systems, including system planning, lighting design, grounding, and lightning protection.
  • Coordinate preparation of construction packages for overhead and underground distribution lines, including plan drawings, structure assemblies, stringing charts, staking tables, bills of material, and other applicable details.
  • Assign tasks and provide guidance to junior team members and coordinate quality control reviews for work performed by engineers-in-training and/or designers.
  • Identify opportunities for learning and development among engineers-in-training and/or designers through methods such as job shadowing, assigning specific project tasks, knowledge sharing, and training sessions.
  • Perform quality control reviews of projects from other teams as needed.
  • Provide engineering input on specific design issues and questions.
  • Conduct analyses to develop design options.
  • Assist with preparing cost estimates or specifications.
  • Attend client stakeholder meetings and lead design reviews with the client.
  • Provide input to the development of project manhours estimates and task schedules.
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks for multiple projects while considering schedule and budget constraints.
  • Perform site visits during the design, construction, and as-built phases of projects, including participating in field reviews or construction observation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office as well as standard Power Market Sector design software.
