Hitachi Energy is seeking a skilled R&D Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the development of innovative technologies and simulations for power transformers in a global innovation environment.

The Opportunity

As an R&D Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with applicable internal and external standards, procedures, and guidelines. Your responsibilities will include proposing and developing new technologies, products, and processes for both core and shell-type transformers.

  • You will perform mechanical design and supervise the manufacturing and testing of prototypes.
  • You will lead and manage R&D projects independently, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and with the required quality.
  • You will maintain and develop technical standards and design tools for transformers.
  • You will prepare technical reports and specifications, and participate in educational programs.
  • You will evaluate production processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • You will support factories in troubleshooting within your area of expertise.

This is a challenging role that requires advanced knowledge in transformer technology, proficiency in CAD modeling software, and experience with numerical simulations.

Requirements
  • Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience in R&D projects, engineering, or academic research.
  • Advanced knowledge in transformer technology.
  • Proficiency in CAD modeling software (CREO, SolidWorks, SolidEdge).
  • Experience with advanced numerical simulations (e.g., fluid dynamics, mechanical simulations) and tools such as Ansys, Fluent, and CREO.
