We are seeking an experienced credit research professional to join our team as a financial analyst.
This position requires reviewing financial statements and legal documents to produce detailed credit reports on companies experiencing stress, distress, or restructuring. The analysis will be produced in reports for subscribers of a leading analytics service. You will have the option to work remotely with flexible terms and competitive compensation.
- Produce comprehensive credit reports that provide financial and valuation analysis on high-yield, distressed, and stressed companies.
- Interact with subscribers electronically and personally to discuss credit and macro analysis.
- Assist in special projects and ad-hoc reports.
- Interact with management and IR teams of covered companies.
The ideal candidate should possess 5+ years of experience in a similar role. Key skills include:
- Excellent understanding of financial statements: income statement, balance sheet, and cash flows.
- A thorough understanding of debt and equity securities and the markets they trade in is required, including knowledge of bankruptcy processes.
- Valuation expertise, including waterfall and DCF analysis is essential.
- Comprehensive knowledge of fixed income analytics (e.g., Z-spread, duration).
- Fluency in Portuguese and/or Spanish is preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
The candidate should also demonstrate excellent writing skills, with the ability to build a thesis and reach a conclusion in a structured manner. Experience writing reports in English is required.
