Job Title:

A successful Contract Administrator will manage and coordinate administrative, budgetary, and regulatory requirements for sponsored research proposals. This role supports principal investigators, college research administrators, and departments by ensuring compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage institutional proposal submissions
  • Oversee the review and submission of proposals submitted through electronic systems
  • Ensure timely submission to external sponsors
  • Interpret and apply sponsor requirements
  • Serve as liaison for assigned portfolio
  • Promote audit-ready documentation and compliance
  • Lead routing and troubleshooting
  • Mentor and support team members
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum 4-5 years of progressively responsible experience in research administration
  • Proficiency in using electronic research administration systems (e.g., Grants.gov, eRA Commons)
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret sponsor guidelines, identify compliance issues, and manage complex or multi-component submissions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
